Join TraC for the first social ride of 2016 – Saturday May 7th from 10am-noon
We will be riding a connected network of existing bike routes while exploring upcoming plans for expanding the town’s cycling network.
The required skill level will be moderate. We will be riding up hills between Upper and Lower Gibsons and will be riding on packed earth trails, gravel paths and paved roads. Breaks will be frequent. Make sure to bring some water.
We will meet at the gazebo at Dougall Park just before 10, then will go over the planned route before we head off. TraC will provide maps of the route. We’ll start with a loop through Lower Gibsons before meandering up the new Lower-Upper connector trail to the top of the Inglis trail. Next, we will take riders through a circuit of Upper Gibsons where we can check out some newly-minted trails. Our path will take us through shaded park then back down the hill to complete a tour along the water, winding up at a local coffee shop. Here you can ask questions, discuss plans and learn more about TraC’s involvement in creating a safe network of bicycle routes in the Town of Gibsons. Snacks and beverages will be available.
Hope to see you there!
