After years of effort, hundreds of volunteer hours and a lot of meetings, TraC is officially launching the SCBR map and mobile app. The app is now available in Apple and Android format, search for “SCBR” and check it out.
Direct and scenic route options, hill profiles, breweries and other sites of interest – everything the visiting cyclist needs to enjoy a ride on the Coast. Cyclists coming off the Langdale ferry will also soon be greeted by a custom made SCBR sign located in the overflow parking lot, complete with an overview map, directions on finding the app, and custom made iron artwork. Next up – working with the Sunshine Coast Tourism Association to get some printed maps ready for the 2019 cycling season.
TraC’s goal is to stimulate investment in cycling infrastructure, which will benefit both local and visiting cyclists, by promoting the SCBR as a regional route connecting Sunshine Coast communities. The more pedals on the road, the stronger the case for investment in bike lanes. TraC would like to thank the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, Sunshine Coast Conservation Association, Sunshine Coast Cycling Association, BC Ferries, MOTI, TrailMapps, Phitted Designs, Beth Hawthorn Design, Tree Studios and countless volunteers for their time, skill, funding and support.
