Thank you District of Sechelt!
And it keeps getting better! Trail Avenue, the major North-South transportation corridor in Sechelt is being greatly improved. The new roadway includes sidewalks and paved paths on both sides, and while it is still under construction, it is already well used. The design, that received input from TraC during the public consultation, follows the Active Transportation Guidelines from the Ministry of Transportation, as well as the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC). The first phase runs from Teredo Lane to Surf Circle. Construction resumed the week of April 4th, and is scheduled for completion by August, 2021. The next step on this project is the completion of Phase 2 that would extend to Turnstone Drive. The DOS is applying for grants to complete this work.
